Remuneration: AHP3 ($112,139 - $120,284) / PO3 ($111,870 - $119,994) + 12% super

Our Mount Barker office is seeking an experienced Social Worker or Professional Officer to join the team as a Supervisor. You will provide leadership, coaching and professional guidance to support strong social work practice and help shape services that are inclusive, culturally respectful and responsive to the needs of children and young people.

This is a single vacancy offered under a dual classification, meaning it may be filled by either an experienced, qualified Social Worker (AHP3) or Professional Officer (PO3) depending on the qualification and suitability of the successful applicant.

Essential Qualifications:

  • AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions require applicants to hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • PO (Professional Officer) positions require relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or other related fields.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).

  • Promote excellence in social work and case management practice through supervision and professional guidance
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring and performance management
  • Oversee the delivery of inclusive, accessible and responsive services
  • Contribute to strategic planning, service improvement and operational priorities across the agency
  • Build collaborative partnerships to support coordinated service delivery and improved outcomes.

Salary:

AHP3: $112,139 - $120,284 p.a. + 12% super
+4% child protection allowance
+regional financial incentive
+Professional Development Allowance - entitlement to claim reimbursement of eligible professional development expenses
+Qualification Allowance may apply if you hold an additional qualification relevant to the role.

PO3: $111,870 - $119,994 p.a. + 12% super
+additional child protection allowance.

Special Conditions:

  • You must have a current Working With Children Check
  • You must have a current Australian driver’s licence (P2 or above) and a willingness to drive.
