Social Worker (Mental Health Clinician)

Location: Burdekin Community Mental Health Service | Ayr, Queensland

Permanent Full-time | 76 hours per fortnight

Remuneration package up to $132,567 p.a. + incentives and benefits

About the Opportunity

The Rural and Remote Mental Health Program delivers mental health and alcohol and other drug services to communities across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service region.

Based at Ayr Hospital, this position sits within the Burdekin Community Mental Health Service.

As a Social Worker (Mental Health Clinician), you will:

  • Provide psychosocial assessment, case formulation and evidence-informed interventions
  • Work with consumers experiencing complex and severe mental health and AOD presentations 
  • Deliver care across the lifespan within a community mental health setting
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external providers
  • Contribute to integrated, person-centred models of care with a focus on recovery, psychosocial support and community engagement
  • Be supported to further develop your clinical skills and therapeutic approaches

What You’ll Need 

Mandatory  

  • A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Social Work
  • Eligibility for full membership to AASW

Desirable  

  • Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner
