Location: Charters Towers, North Queensland 

Permanent Full-time | 76 hours per fortnight 

Remuneration package up to $132,568 p.a. + benefits

We’re seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Charters Towers. This is an opportunity to deliver specialist assessment, intervention, and case management to young people with complex mental health needs, while developing your expertise within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. 

About the Opportunity 

In this role, you will: 

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention to children and young people experiencing serious mental health concerns 
  • Provide case management and care coordination, working closely with families, carers, and service providers 
  • Participate in intake and crisis assessment services across the lifespan 
  • Contribute to the delivery of services aligned with national and state mental health frameworks and models of care 
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to continuity of care and outcome monitoring 
  • Engage in quality improvement, evaluation activities, and ongoing professional development 

You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to create a therapeutic, recovery-oriented environment that promotes the dignity and wellbeing of consumers and carers.

About the Service 

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary referral service in northern Australia, delivering integrated, recovery-focused care across hospital and community settings. About You 

You are a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist with a commitment to delivering high-quality mental health care to children and young people. 

You will bring: 

  • Strong skills in assessment, formulation, and intervention  
  • A commitment to recovery-oriented, consumer-centred practice 
  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team 
  • Well-developed communication, documentation, and clinical reasoning skills

What You’ll Need 

  • A degree in Social Work  
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) 
  • Experience or strong interest in mental health, particularly child and youth 
  • A commitment to recovery-oriented, consumer-centre practice 

Desirable: 

  • AASW accredited Mental Health Social Worker status
