Part-time — 22.8 hours per week
SCHADS Award Level 3 or Level 4, depending on experience, qualifications and final duties

Community Living Association Inc. is seeking a practical, organised and values-led Compliance Officer to support our governance, quality, risk, safety and compliance systems.

About the role

The Compliance Officer will work with the CEO, managers, team leaders and staff to make sure compliance obligations are identified, tracked, monitored and reported.

The role includes supporting:

  • compliance registers and action trackers
  • policy review schedules
  • audit readiness and evidence gathering
  • quality improvement actions
  • risk registers and WHS monitoring
  • incident, complaint and corrective action follow-up
  • reporting to management, committees and the Board
  • practical resources, checklists and guidance for staff

About you

This role would suit someone who enjoys keeping things on track, improving systems, supporting staff, and helping a community organisation meet its obligations in a clear and consistent way.

You will bring:

  • at least 2 years’ experience in compliance, quality, governance, risk, audit support or administration
  • experience maintaining registers, records or controlled documents
  • strong attention to detail
  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities
  • sound Microsoft 365 skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
  • commitment to confidentiality, human rights, inclusion, cultural safety and child safety

Experience in the not-for-profit, disability, housing, child and family, or community services sector would be highly regarded.

Mandatory requirements

The successful applicant must have, or be willing to obtain:

  • right to work in Australia
  • Queensland Blue Card
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, where required
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate

1.       Describe a time you identified a compliance risk, quality issue or governance gap in an organisation. What did you do, and what was the outcome?.

2.       Describe your experience managing compliance registers, audit preparation, policy reviews or document control systems. How did you ensure information was accurate, up to date and actionable?

3.       Describe a time when you disagreed with a colleague or manager about a compliance, risk or policy issue. How did you approach the conversation, negotiate a resolution, and maintain a positive working relationship?

4.       Compliance requirements and organisational processes often change. Describe a time when you had to communicate a significant change in policy, procedure or regulatory requirements. How did you help people understand and adopt the change?

5.       How do you balance compliance obligations with the need for practical, relationship-based and values-led service delivery?
