CLA is currently recruiting for a Constituent Board Member Support Officer.
This casual role involves helping members prepare for meetings, understand Board papers, ask questions, follow discussions, and share their own views. The role is about supporting people’s decision making — not making decisions for them.

Community Living Association is a Brisbane-based not-for-profit organisation supporting people with cognitive and learning disabilities, young people, families and communities. CLA works alongside people to build inclusion, connection, independence and decision-making capacity.
About the role
The Constituent Board Member Support Officer will support up to four Constituent Board Members to prepare for, understand and participate in Board meetings.
The role includes:
Board meetings are generally held every six weeks, usually from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with preparation time beforehand. Face-to-face support is required, and meetings are usually held at Nundah or Chermside libraries.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
Governance, committee or Board experience would be highly regarded.
Employment details
This is a casual position under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. The role will be classified at SCHADS Level 3 or 4, depending on the successful applicant’s skills and experience.
The expected time commitment is approximately 5 hours every 6 weeks, with possible additional hours for extra meetings or follow-up.
