Job Description

Role Status: Full-time ongoing vacancy available
Remuneration: AHP5 ($137,075 - $149,922) plus 12% superannuation

Role Details:

As a Senior Manager located in Elizabeth, you will enact strategic leadership and professionally oversee the operational management of the child protection system. You will embody a culturally informed mindset that is committed to exceptional service standards for children and young people. This collaborative role will lead statewide practice improvement that is centred on expertly understandings of policies, frameworks and guidelines. Applying innovative and strategy-based approaches will fortify the child protection system and assist children and young people in care.

In this role, you will:

  • Convey knowledgeable insight of practice trends, risk developments and interpreting legislation
  • Oversee the execution of improvement methods of policies, frameworks and guidelines
  • Enact culturally, ethically and trauma-informed decision-making to elevate service delivery
  • Create innovative, evidence-based practices that strengthen mitigation strategies and statewide capability-building programs
  • Generate quality executive briefings, annual reviews, and reports and represent the department on high-level committees.

  • You can efficiently manage budget allocations and financial resources to optimise outcomes for children and young people.

About DCP

The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection of children, young people and their families within South Australia. The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected.

Special Conditions

Essential:

  • An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in either Social Work, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Developmental Education which entitles registration or membership with the relevant board or association
  • All requirements to maintain registration or membership must be fulfilled.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
