Field Education Supervisors

About the role
ACAP is seeking field education supervisors for its Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work Qualifying Program in Sydney. Suitable candidates must be social work professionals (eligible for full membership of the AASW).
The candidate we seek will ideally have:
A minimum of five years full-time practice experience, or its part-time equivalent;
A demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education; and
An interest in developing social work knowledge and skills.
Eligibility for AASW membership
In additional they must be willing to:
Engage in training prior to first engagement as Field Education Supervisors.
Involve the organisation, the field educator and the student in a consultative process about the goals, learning processes, structure and assessment of the placement
Maintain regular contact with the student, monitor the progress of the placement, mediate any difficulties and assess student progress.
Provide a minimum of 1.5 hours formal supervision per week.
Observe the student’s practice in placements where the focus is on direct practice.
