ARROS Team Leader

Full-time | Fixed -term contract to October 2027 | SCHADS Level 6 | Nundah, Brisbane

About the role

Community Living Association Inc is seeking an experienced, creative and values-driven social worker to lead ARROS. ARROS works alongside young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including young people with experiences of trauma or intellectual or cognitive disability who are transitioning from care or youth justice to adulthood.

This role combines day-to-day program leadership with direct practice. You will guide and support the ARROS team while working with young people, families, significant others, communities and service providers to create spaces to live, places to belong and roles for meaning.

Key responsibilities

·         Lead the day-to-day operation of the ARROS program.

·         Provide proactive outreach and direct support to young people with intellectual or learning disability who are vulnerable in the community.

·         Supervise, support and develop staff, including performance reviews and reflective practice.

·         Work collaboratively with families, significant others, communities and service providers.

·         Strengthen information sharing, community capacity and systems advocacy.

·         Manage program resources, administration, policies, reporting and funding relationships.

About you

·         An accredited tertiary qualification in social work.

·         AASW membership, or willingness to obtain it.

·         Experience in leadership and/or staff supervision.

·         Specialised knowledge or experience in developmental practice and working with people with intellectual, cognitive and/or psychosocial disability.

·         Strong skills in relational, trauma-informed, disability-informed and reflective practice, crisis intervention and capacity building.

·         A commitment to social justice, advocacy, cultural safety and inclusive practice.

·         A current driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.

·         A current Blue Card and Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain required clearances.

·         NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion, or willingness to obtain it.

·         Full-time hours of 38 hours per week.

·         Fixed term contract ending in October 2027, with possible extension subject to funding.

3.      Provide an example of how you have led or supported practitioners through a complex practice issue. How did you use supervision, critical reflection and collaborative decision-making to strengthen practice and support the team?

4.      How would you lead an ethical, trauma-informed and reflective team culture while balancing staff wellbeing, accountability and effective service delivery? Please include an example from your leadership or practice experience.

5.      Please confirm you have a driver’s licence, access to a personal vehicle for work purposes, a current Blue Card, a current Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willingness to obtain), an accredited social work qualification, and AASW membership (or willingness to obtain).
