Part-Time Social Worker – Liverpool Area, NSW

Job Description

Part-Time Social Worker – Liverpool Area, NSW

About Us

Crescent Care Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation committed to enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities across the Greater Liverpool Area. Our mission is to promote growth, empowerment, and quality of life through compassionate, culturally responsive, and professional care. We work closely with diverse local communities — offering tailored programs and accessible services that meet people where they are. We are driven by ethics, collaboration, and a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference.

About the Role

We are seeking a warm, skilled, and community-oriented Social Worker to join our team on a part-time, on-site basis in Liverpool, NSW. In this role, you will assess client needs, develop personalised support plans, and provide ongoing counselling and advocacy to individuals navigating social, emotional, or personal challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough client assessments and developing tailored care plans
  • Connecting clients to appropriate community resources and support services
  • Coordinating and monitoring care plans in collaboration with families, service providers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Managing cases with a person-centred, culturally sensitive approach
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential client records in line with organisational and legal standards

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Social Work or a related discipline (AASW membership or eligibility is highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience in social work, case management, or counselling
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Knowledge of local community resources and service networks in South Western Sydney
  • Sound judgement in problem-solving and managing complex or sensitive situations
  • A genuine commitment to empathy, dignity, and professional practice

Cultural Requirement

Given the nature of our client base, which includes a significant Arabic-speaking community, proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable. We particularly welcome applications from female candidates, as many of our clients — in line with cultural and religious preferences — are most comfortable engaging with a female practitioner. This reflects a genuine occupational requirement of the role.

Why Join Us?

You'll be part of a values-driven team that genuinely cares about the communities it serves. We offer a supportive, inclusive workplace where your cultural background and language skills are seen as a real strength.
