This is a great opportunity for a social worker to join a dedicated mental health team supporting the Burdekin community. Based at Ayr Hospital, you’ll provide psychosocial assessment, recovery oriented intervention and support consumers to build independence, wellbeing and participation in meaningful roles and relationships. You’ll work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment that values reflective practice, shared learning and high quality consumer care. New starters are supported through structured orientation, senior clinical guidance and opportunities to further develop advanced mental health skills.
About the Opportunity
The Rural and Remote Mental Health Program delivers mental health and alcohol and drug services to communities across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service region. This position is based at the Burdekin Mental Health Service, located within Ayr Hospital.
In this role, you will provide psychosocial assessment, recovery focused intervention, care coordination and advocacy for consumers experiencing complex and severe mental health and/or substance use concerns. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and external service providers to deliver person centred, evidence informed care.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across the lifespan, contribute to integrated models of care and support the wellbeing, independence and social participation of individuals and families within the Burdekin region.
