Job Description

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12 25-year-olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples' wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

  • Fixed Term - June 2026

About the role:

  • Full-time 75 hours per fortnight Mon-Fri
  • Completing assessments and planning targeted support with young people and their families/carers.
  • Providing time limited targeted interventions to young people and being inclusive of their families, friends and carers in their treatment.
  • Provision of consultancy, advocacy, information and liaison services to individual GPs about mental health issues.
  • Consulting and liaising with other health and community service agencies to facilitate a coordinated approach in the young person’s treatment and recovery.

About You:

  • The role is applicable to suitably experienced and qualified Clinical Psychologist or a Mental Health Social Worker
  • Current and full registration with appropriate registration authority (AHPRA or AASW).
  • National Police Check and Department of Human Services Child-Related Employment Screening.
  • Eligible to provide services under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS - Better Access).
