Who we are:
The Griffith Community Mental Health Drug and Alcohol team is the second largest of six Community mental health drug and alcohol teams across Murrumbidgee LHD. The team has approximately 15 multidisciplinary clinicians and a range of support staff, who provide Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drug services, across the life span from a site in Yambil Street.
We work closely with MyStep and other community organisations to ensure people receive the right care for their needs. At a district level we have access to clinical leaders for Mental health, Alcohol and Other Drugs and other specialty services such as Aboriginal Mental Health, eating disorders and Perinatal Infant Mental Health.
What you’ll be doing:
This clinical position involves the provision of intake, assessment, evidence based interventions and case management services to individuals referred to the service with issues related to substance use in accordance with relevant NSW Health guidelines.
Interventions are to be provided by this position include, advocacy for the client group, counselling and/or appropriate therapies (CBT, DBT & MI etc), withdrawal supervision and opioid treatment case management.
Integral to the position is the provision of professional advice to, and liaison with, other health, community and welfare professionals.
The position provides age-appropriate services to individuals of all ages (children, adolescents, adults and the elderly).
