Several fixed vacancies are available to 30/06/2027 in various locations.
Selection will be made at the P1, P2 or P3 level depending on the experience/qualifications of the successful applicant.

Apply your practical skills and tertiary qualifications in Social Work and make a positive difference to the lives of children and their families.

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is a multi-functional human services and community-focused agency that works to provide responsive, safe and quality services and programs that empower communities and improve social outcomes for all Territorians.

As a frontline Remote Services Practitioner (P1/P2) under the direction of the Team Leader, you form part of a dedicated team of professionals delivering integrated statutory and non-statutory welfare services to vulnerable children and families in communities. Depending upon your professional experience your duties may include assessing individual, family and community issues, applying appropriate methods of intervention, delivering case work and case management services, undertaking statutory responsibilities and exercising delegations under the Care and Protection of Children Act.

In addition to the above, Team Leaders Remote Services (P3) head and supervise a team of professional and remote safety support staff in the delivery of integrated statutory and non-statutory services and safety services to vulnerable children, families and groups residing in remote communities.  It is a great opportunity to develop a team culture in a diverse role.

To be successful, it is essential you have completed a tertiary qualification which gives eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Community Workers Association or the Australian Psychological Society or equivalent. Your strong understanding of the principles and functions of delivering statutory and non-statutory welfare services, conducting strength-based assessments, developing and delivering effective interventions, and demonstrated capacity to interpret and apply complex legislation will contribute to your success in the role. In addition, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, with the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.

In return, you will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package including 12% Superannuation, 6 weeks recreational and 3 weeks personal leave, additional 3 days paid leave over Christmas, 17.5% annual leave allowance, generous market and retention allowances, support to grow and develop your career, and the unique opportunity to experience the variety of working in the Top End and Arnhem region.

If you reside outside the territory, this is a great time to consider relocating to work in a remote community.

This is your chance to make a real difference to the lives of Territorians, both young and young at heart and experience an array of what the NT has to offer, including a rich-multi-cultural society and unique communities. Relocation assistance may be available.
