Job Description

This is a full time position at a Academic C, $121,718 - $140,348 plus 17% superannuation, classification working 36.75 hours per week over a continuing contract period.

About the role

The applicant for this position will be an experienced and highly motivated academic with a passion for educating students for a successful career in youth and community work. You will combine your extensive industry background with a working knowledge of university procedures in relation to Course Chairing including course monitoring, comprehensive reviews, industry accreditation, external referencing and responding to student feedback. You should also be a natural leader who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues including teaching staff teams, Course Chairs, Directors and Deans for shared success.

About the person

The successful candidate will embrace the College of Arts and Education agenda in the Youth & Community Programs area and make a significant contribution to teaching and research in the discipline of Youth Work. Having completed a post graduate degree (AQF9 minimum) in youth work or related area, you will bring high-level skills and experience in teaching and an appropriate record in research and program development.  It is expected you will have experience in the Youth Work industry, as well as a good working knowledge of the community sector. This will assist in building strong vocational degrees and ensure that you can construct, deliver and manage courses in the Youth & Community programs group that deliver job ready graduates.
