  • Permanent Part Time
  • 64 hours per fortnight

  • Adult mental health

  • Acute Adult Inpatient Unit - Wanyarra
  • Aged Persons mental health
  • Child and Youth mental health

About the role

This is an exciting new role for a social worker to be part of the Wanyarra Inpatient Unit team caring for acute mental health patients.  This role will include orgnisation and facilitation of groups to improve wellness and wellbeing of patients during their stay on the ward. It will also assist in ensuring dischrge planning is collaborative to ensure effective discharge that meets the ongoing needs of the consumer.   

We are looking for:

  • Qualifications,Approved tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with AASW.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in the provision of evidence based therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, empathy and respect for the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of other at all times.
