About the Role

The Social Work Department at Casey Hospital is looking for enthusiatic, skilled Grade 1 social worker and a new graduate social worker to join the team at Casey Hospital, working in the bed based acute and subacute hospital setting where you will have exposure to an array of specialty areas. These positions are full-time fixed term positions and are part of a flexible team who collaborate to provide a holistic approach to service delivery across many sites, also working collaboratively across all sites bed-based and community. This provides an opportunity to showcase your skills in working with people from a range of diverse backgrounds as well as completing complex psychosocial assessments, the development of patient centred care plans and complex discharges.  Bed-based service delivery includes rosters servicing the Emergency department, Women’s and Children’s wards and On-call programs.  Monash Health provides career opportunities to progress and develop as a social work clinican. 

You will be a member of a dynamic Social Work and Allied Health team at Casey Hospital, working in a collaborative model of care across Monash Health. The positions work closely with the internal and external stakeholders to provide care founded on current evidence-based practice for patients accessing care through the inpatient and community based setting.

About you

You will have experience as a health social worker and have worked within a multidisciplinary team. You will have demonstrated experience as a social worker who is able to work collaboratively with the broader multidisciplinary team. You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What you need

  • Bachelor Social Work or Master Social Work (Qualifying)
  • Experience working in a community health or hospital setting
  • Current driver’s license
  • Current working with children’s check
