The Department for Child Protection needs your help in protecting and caring for children and supporting young people at risk. As a Child Protection Worker you will provide an invaluable service to the community by promoting the safety and well being of children, and working with families to make positive changes in their lives which ensure the safety or their children.

 The Child Protection Worker role is the entry point for people professionally qualified to work in child protection.  Applicants with the required qualification will be paid under the Specified Calling salary range of $55,677 – $76,337 pa.

 

What are we looking for? / Work related requirements

  1. Knowledge of the issues in the protection and care of children and young people.
  2. Ability to engage, empower and build strong working relationships with a diverse range of clients (particularly including Aboriginal clients), stakeholders, partners and colleagues.
  3. Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
  4. Demonstrated assessment and analytical skills, as well as strong communication skills (written, verbal and non-verbal).
  5. A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or a relevant human service area.
