Job Description

Professional 1 Remuneration Package $75,438 - $97,207 (including salary $64,904 - $83,700)
Professional 2 Remuneration Package $100,067 - $119,681 (including salary $86,204 - $103,377)
Plus a market allowance between $7,061 - $7,410

Child Protection Practitioner (P1): Undertake statutory responsibilities and exercise in accordance with the Care and Protection of Children Act and apply your professional expertise in social welfare to the assessment of individual, family and community issues. Key duties include the development and implementation of family support programs and frameworks such as Signs of Safety.

To be successful, you require an Australian tertiary qualification which gives eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Community Workers Association, or the Australian Psychological Society. Demonstrated experience in conducting strengths based assessments and the ability to develop, implement and monitor case planning processes is essential. 

As well as demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, family and community structures, and the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner. Remote travel for up to two weeks at a time may be required, whether by road or light aircraft.

Senior Child Protection Practitioners (P2) in addition Senior Practitioners are required to have significant experience working within a legislative framework, extensive skills and experience in strengths based assessments, case planning processes working within a legislative framework.
