About the service
The Emergency Psychiatric Service (EPS) includes the Enhanced Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (ECATT) operating from the Casey Emergency Department and MHaPs (formerly PACER) providing a service operating from Narre Warren Police Station. ECATT service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and MHaPs operates 7 days a week afternoon shift.
This position will ensure a comprehensive assessment, collaborative treatment design and appropriate referral of consumers presenting to the team.
About the role
We currently have positions available for Senior Clinicians to be a part of our growing EPS team. This role will find you working in both ECATT and MHaPs (formerly PACER). You will work within a multidisciplinary team, based at Casey Hospital in Berwick. You will also work closely with Casey Hospital Emergency Department, Casey ACIS (formerly CATT) and Victorian Police members. Candidates will be required to work a roster system that includes night shift. EPS is at the front end of service delivery with the priority to help a person to remain in or return to their local community as quickly as possible. Interventions are tailored to individual consumer and family needs as well as circumstances.
What you need
From you we expect a qualification in Psychiatric nursing or Occupational Therapy and be registered with AHPRA. Alternatively you have a degree in Social Work or other qualification making you eligible for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers. Hand in hand with this are your first class interpersonal and problem solving skills. Your experience will also include community based assessment of acute and chronically mentally ill people with a range of disorders.
