Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

We are now recruiting for two Case Manager positions, one to live and work in Amata (South Australia) and one to live and work in Mutitjulu (Northern Territory) to be a part of the Walytjapiti team.

If successful, you will work with families and children who are at risk of child protection intervention, working to support and strengthen the families in order for children to remain safe, happy and protected in their families and communities. Walytjapiti means full family, group or gathering of relations. Strength, culture and land are also implicit in the word. The Walytjapiti team deliver trauma informed therapeutic case management with families across eight remote communities in the Northern Territory and APY lands.

Walytjapiti’s vision is for Anangu families to remain healthy and positive about their future by living in strong and independent communities that have increased socio-economic equality, children attend school and adults are meaningfully engaged.

You will have a background in Social Work, Early Childhood or Community Development and have experience in managing a caseload. Working with trauma informed frameworks or the ability to adopt those practices would be desirable. The positions will be based in Amata and Mutitjulu and will require significant travel across communities and to the head office in Alice Springs every 6-8 weeks for training and support.
