Remuneration: AHP1/PO1 ($68,478 - $83,594 p.a + 11.5% Super) / AHP2 ($88,255 - $102,240 p.a. + 11.5% Super) / PO2 ($88,255 - $97,667 p.a. + 11.5% Super) 

Role Details

Are you an experienced Allied Health Professional or Graduate looking to take the challenge and/or next step in your career? The Department for Child Protection Hindmarsh office is currently seeking Social Workers, Case Managers, Senior Social Workers and Senior Case Managers to join their employment pool.

In these roles you will work within a team to respond to the needs of children and their families by undertaking high quality case management in accordance with statutory guidelines.

This is a unique opportunity to assist families by working in partnership with them to support the safe return of their children to their care and to work directly with children in care to assure their development, stability and security at all times.

About You

We are looking for motivated, organised individuals who have the ability to understand factors that contribute to child abuse within the context of child development, parenting, family and environmental factors and confidently apply this understanding to your work and the decisions you make.

You need to be a good communicator and have the ability to develop strong networks with key professionals and families. You will also have the ability to apply culturally sensitive child protection practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and community from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

About the Pool

Should you be successful, you will be advised (in writing) that you have been recommended onto this pool. The pool will remain active for 12 months and during this time you may be contacted for an offer of employment. You are not required to accept any or all offers made to you, and DCP is not obliged to offer you any opportunities.

About the Business

The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection of children, young people and their families within South Australia. The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected.

Special Conditions

AHP: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

PO: Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related field.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).

To be appointed directly to the AHP2 level, successful candidates must demonstrate increased professional expertise, competence and experience to perform any standard professional task within the discipline. Candidates will have also attained greater specialised knowledge within the discipline, which enables them to provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills.
